FHL Gazette: Pre-deadline survey: Bulldogs and Rattleheads

Created by NorwegianOiler on 2016-02-09 20:39:44

What do you think about your team's performance so far this season?
Meh, same old, same old...overall pretty happy, injuries have taken their toll a bit, but we can all say that at some point during the season. I just can't get over the hump, I see the flaws, just not much I can do to fix them.

What are the most important reasons behind your team's performance?
General consistency I guess, fairly well rounded team.

Do you have any concrete ambitions for the remainder of the season?
Hopefully climb back up a space or two in the standings...unfortunately I don't think Norbot is catchable.

Which of your players would you be willing to listen to offers to?
I'm honestly pretty open to offers on anyone, make a pitch.
- What would be the starting price for these players?
See above.

What areas of your team are you looking to address in the future?
I might be inclined to get a little younger, but that doesn't mean I'll sell my good vets for nothing.

Which teams have surprised you the most so far this season?
Gladiators.

Who do you think will win the Norack Cup as regular season champion?
Intentionally left blank because it makes me to ill to type again.

Who do you think will win the FHL playoffs?
A team in the FHL.

Do you have any other messages for the fellowship of the FHL?

<3

What do you think about your team's performance so far this season?
Started out alright, my roster was producing well except for Getzlaf. Lately its been the opposite, Getzlaf is putting up points and the rest are overall slumping. I've gone from fighting for a spot in the top five to picking in the top ten in June.

What are the most important reasons behind your team's performance?
The slumps of Desharnias, Nyqvist, Lee, and Getzlaf have out weight the strong performances of Weise, Parenteau, and Alzner. Don't even get me started on my goaltending...

Do you have any concrete ambitions for the remainder of the season?
Not really just scout and ride it out and start again next year.

Which of your players would you be willing to listen to offers to?
Kronwall, Emelin, and Lehtonen.

What areas of your team are you looking to address in the future?
Goaltending...

Which teams have surprised you the most so far this season?
No team in particular, just the closeness and parity this season compared to last, a bad week can really be costly.

Who do you think will win the Norack Cup as regular season champion?
Is this really going to be a mystery or surprise? The Vikings.

Who do you think will win the FHL playoffs?
The Militia for some reason.

Do you have any other messages for the fellowship of the FHL?
Have you heard about this Connor kid?

FHL Gazette: Pre-deadline survey: Vikings

Created by NorwegianOiler on 2016-02-07 10:08:49

What do you think about your team's performance so far this season?
I am happy so far. We struggled to open a gap to the rest of the contenders, but have kept a reasonable distance of some 30 to 50 points for some time now. Barring serious injuries I expect to be able to keep pace. What may happen to the Vikings next season, with many RFAs pending new deals, is concerning, but right now things are going swimmingly.

What are the most important reasons behind your team's performance?
Superb goaltending - the rest of the established crew have done their job as expected. We have not gotten as much out of secondary players as I had hoped - with Raffl, Girgenssons, Sekac, Jaskin, and a few others underperforming. The defense has been solid, marked especially by the core group of Hedman, Johnson, Josi, Vatanen, and Shattenkirk.

Do you have any concrete ambitions for the remainder of the season?
To win the Norack Cup - and mount a serious bid for the playoff trophy too.

Which of your players would you be willing to listen to offers to?
- What would be the starting price for these players?
Hypothetically, everyone is available as such. In practice, it is not realistic to expect either of the Vikings' netminders to be moved, nor core players on superb deals like Hedman, Josi, Wheeler, Gallagher, et. al. It would be very hard to move Parise or Bergeron as they are personal favorites, but the Vikings try not to get too attached to anyone. Still, we may be forced to move even more established players for future assets due to the ever growing cap total of our team.

What areas of your team are you looking to address in the future?
I'd like to add some stud defensive prospects and perhaps a good forward role player or two.

Which teams have surprised you the most so far this season?
Surprised that the Tigers and Arcadians aren't higher - impressed with the Thunder, Gladiators, and in light of the past also the Devils and Dragons who've begun to take steps towards a better future.

Who do you think will win the Norack Cup as regular season champion?
The Vikings.

Who do you think will win the FHL playoffs?
In truth, I don't expect the Vikings to be able to win a third straight playoff campaign given the randomness of weekly scoring. Teams that could The Luongo/Varlamov combo with the Gladiators should be tough to beat.

Do you have any other messages for the fellowship of the FHL?

Thank you. There is more to come with the FHL!

What do you think about your team's performance so far this season?
Well surprisingly where I was hoping I would be... out of the bottom 5.

What are the most important reasons behind your team's performance?
injuries to key players have really hurt. However surprise production from Martin Jones and Max Domi have kept me out of the basement.

Do you have any concrete ambitions for the remainder of the season?
Stay out of the bottom 5. Hopefully when all my players come back I can make a run... I'll cross my fingers on a playoff berth

Which of your players would you be willing to listen to offers to?
- What would be the starting price for these players?
Connor.... you all wish! haha.
Well would love to move...
Andy Greene
Jason Spezza
Big ticket contracts. The asking price would be a package of players whose salary and point totals equal what these guys do for me.

What areas of your team are you looking to address in the future?
getting better forward depth

Which teams have surprised you the most so far this season?
the Bulldogs? Otherwise not too many surprises.

Who do you think will win the Norack Cup as regular season champion?
Vikings. I think they've got a good cushion that won't be relinquished

Who do you think will win the FHL playoffs?
I'll choose the Heatwave. They always seem to make deep playoff runs

Do you have any other messages for the fellowship of the FHL?
Good luck to all!

FHL Gazette: Pre-deadline survey: Dragons, Rhinos, and Thunder

What do you think about your team's performance so far this season?
It was a slow start for my top guys (Kopitar/Crosby/Giordano) but they have turned it around as of late. We are not at the bottom and are slowly climbing out of the basement. It could be better, but it could be worse.

What are the most important reasons behind your team's performance?
Big reason we are not at the bottom is because of Bennett and Eichel playing well as rookies.

Do you have any concrete ambitions for the remainder of the season?
13th place would be a great step in the right direction.

Which of your players would you be willing to listen to offers to?

Kopitar and Thornton are on the block. I don't have a starting price but need a goalie.
- What would be the starting price for these players?

What areas of your team are you looking to address in the future?
Goalie

Which teams have surprised you the most so far this season?
Burninators have made some progress from last year. The Devils have made a good push as well.

Who do you think will win the Norack Cup as regular season champion?
Vikings

Who do you think will win the FHL playoffs?
Vikings

What do you think about your team's performance so far this season?
On the surface it seems that my Rhinos are on a downward spriral but I have tons of cap room & the backbone of my team is strong as my goaltending and defence is among the FHLs best. I see good things in the horizon & can see the Rhinos as a top 3 team again as early as next season.

What are the most important reasons behind your team's performance?
The forward ranks of my team. Not enough snipers or playmakers.

Do you have any concrete ambitions for the remainder of the season?
Get hot at the right time and do some damage in the playoffs

Which of your players would you be willing to listen to offers to?
I'd listen to offers on Hornqvist right now. Have some Dmen available too.
- What would be the starting price for these players?

Tough to say. I see him as a main piece in a deal involving multiple players.

What areas of your team are you looking to address in the future?
I think adding a true superstar player to my forward ranks would go a long way.

Which teams have surprised you the most so far this season?
Samson's Thunder have move up quite a bit in the standings this season.

Who do you think will win the Norack Cup as regular season champion?
Don't see anyone catching NO.

Who do you think will win the FHL playoffs?
Too many variables at play to make an educated guess right now.

Do you have any other messages for the fellowship of the FHL?
I'm willing to eat some salary right now.

What do you think about your team's performance so far this season?
Pretty happy with it, about where I thought

What are the most important reasons behind your team's performance?Draisaitl finally arrived and Hall, Komarov and Dubnyk have had really good seasons

Do you have any concrete ambitions for the remainder of the season?
Stay in the top ten and hopefully do well in the playoffs

Which of your players would you be willing to listen to offers to?
For the right price, anyone. But my trade block is up to date and I would be willing to hear offers for Hossa and Perron too. That said I'm pretty happy with my team
- What would be the starting price for these players?
A cheaper player is always a good starting point, but not looking for more prospects/picks

What areas of your team are you looking to address in the future?
I'm not looking at anything specific, I think I've got some good balance and some good young players starting to make it which will help with the cap

Which teams have surprised you the most so far this season?
Stingers and especially the Lakers. On the positive side the Gladiators climbed a lot from last season

Who do you think will win the Norack Cup as regular season champion?
Vikings

Who do you think will win the FHL playoffs?
Thunder. Hey, I have to believe in my team

Do you have any other messages for the fellowship of the FHL?
Thanks for another fun year

FHL Gazette: Pre-deadline survey: Spartans, Gladiators, and Stingers

Created by NorwegianOiler on 2016-01-31 02:12:22

What do you think about your team's performance so far this season?
Terrible. I was hoping to do better, at least be close to the playoffs, but I'm exactly were I ended last season.

What are the most important reasons behind your team's performance?
No Goaltending, lackluster performances from a few key players, and still waiting for all my prospects to make it, but mainly the goaltending.

Do you have any concrete ambitions for the remainder of the season?
I would like to climb the standings a bit, even if it's just one spot so I can finish higher than last season.

Which of your players would you be willing to listen to offers to?
I would listen for anyone, but I doubt many of my players would bring back enough to justify trading them. Guys I'm most willing to listen to offers for are: Backlund, Koivu, Purcell, Stastny, Watson, Chara, Streit and any of my goalies.

What areas of your team are you looking to address in the future?
Goaltending. I want a legitimate starter, and will be willing to trade my first round pick this summer for the right one.

Which teams have surprised you the most so far this season?
Dragons and Thunder. In the preseason survey I predicted them to be at the bottom, but both are well ahead of me.

Who do you think will win the Norack Cup as regular season champion?
The Vikings. They seem to consistent from week to week not to.

Who do you think will win the FHL playoffs?
Probably the Vikings as well.

Do you have any other messages for the fellowship of the FHL?
Since my choices all seem to be turning out so well this year you can all thank me if the Vikings lose now that I've picked them to win it all.

What do you think about your team's performance so far this season?
It had a slow start and now things are picking up to where I expected. Hoping to catch 1st by the end of the year!

What are the most important reasons behind your team's performance?
Players are now performing to the standard that is expected of them. Goaltending has proved to be effective again which provides a strong backbone.

Do you have any concrete ambitions for the remainder of the season?
Win it all I guess.

Which of your players would you be willing to listen to offers to?

I'm always willing to listen to offers, just make sure they are reasonable before doing so, I won't be selling players at a bargain.
- What would be the starting price for these players?
No idea, depends on the player.

What areas of your team are you looking to address in the future?
I'm still hoping to improve the defense a bit more. My forwards will improve with more time and development.

Which teams have surprised you the most so far this season?
I would say the Stingers and their huge free fall to nearly last. That wasn't expected.

Who do you think will win the Norack Cup as regular season champion?
I'm going to say if not myself I think it will be the Militia. The Vikings lead has slowly been chipped away at.

Who do you think will win the FHL playoffs?
Not sure, it all depends on who is hot week to week. Could be anyone.

What do you think about your team's performance so far this season?
Disappointing. Many of the guys who should be taking the next step or even equalling what they did last season are having slumps and inconsistent play.

What are the most important reasons behind your team's performance?
Goaltending depth, once a strengh, has proven to be a weakness. So many young players also have a large impact.

Do you have any concrete ambitions for the remainder of the season?
I think The Stingers are what they are. For now it's hoping to get the best out of the young roster and looking forward to the draft.

Which of your players would you be willing to listen to offers to?
- What would be the starting price for these players?
Claude Giroux would be a player I'm willing to part with. Evander Kane as well. Goaltending is the price.

What areas of your team are you looking to address in the future?
Goaltending and slimming down the roster to the guys who will actually be reliable in the future. Hopefully the last part of the season provides some clarity on their progression.

Which teams have surprised you the most so far this season?
I'd say the Lakers. I though he'd be a middle of the pack team but all those injuries early on really destroyed his season.

Who do you think will win the Norack Cup as regular season champion?
Chiefs.

Who do you think will win the FHL playoffs?
Gotta stick with the Chiefs.

Do you have any other messages for the fellowship of the FHL?
Not really. It's been a disappointing season for me to say the least. I'm looking forward to the end of the season when roster changes are contemplated and offers are thought about.

FHL Gazette: Pre-deadline survey: Heatwave, Bombers, and Lakers.

Created by NorwegianOiler on 2016-01-30 09:09:45 (updated by NorwegianOiler on 2016-01-30 09:10:25)

What do you think about your team's performance so far this season?
I’m actually happy with the team overall. Though we’re outside the top 5 thus far, our offense and defense ranks among the top in the league. In fact, I believe there are only 2 teams above us in the standings that have a greater combined total for Offense + Defense. With Eddie Lack taking over for an injured Cam Ward, and Cam Talbot getting more starts with the Oil, there appear to be better days ahead for the Heatwave as we close out the season.

What are the most important reasons behind your team's performance?
Unfortunately, goaltending has held the Heatwave back this year. With uncertainty about Jimmy Howard’s starting status in Detroit, and Antti Niemi moving to a “share the crease” situation in Dallas, it was evident prior to the commencement of the season that the net presence would be a concern.

Cam Talbot was a question mark, and certainly a gamble. His struggles to find his way behind the Oilers’ swiss cheese defense hurt, and Anders Nilsson’s run of games didn’t help. However, Talbot seems to have taken back the starting position, so we’ll hope for more out of him.

Trading Niemi was a huge gamble, but the acquisition of Mike Hoffman made the points difference a wash. Adding Eddie Lack, and the subsequent injury to Cam Ward should help consolidate a better performance in net post All-Star Break.
The demotion of Jimmy Howard has also opened up cap room that allowed me to put Derek Stepan back in the lineup to help an already decent offense.

Do you have any concrete ambitions for the remainder of the season?
I’m simply hoping for a continuation of production from offense and defense, as well as a much needed boost to goalie numbers. Outside of that, the Heatwave still aim for a Top 5 spot and a great playoff run.

Which of your players would you be willing to listen to offers to?
At this point, I’m pretty comfortable with the lineup heading into the playoffs. Some fringe players like Chiasson, Hodgson, Richards, Umberger and Bouwmeester could be moved, but otherwise I’m planning on jettisoning a lot of guys once Free Agency hits. Other than Jimmy Howard – who I fully expect to be starting somewhere other than Detroit next season – there isn’t much to pick up.

- What would be the starting price for these players?
With nothing of real value, I’m open to offers. As for Howard, I haven’t really made my mind up, as I would like to see what the offseason holds for him.

What areas of your team are you looking to address in the future?
I think I’ll be looking at more youth, and depth to complement the roster in 2017. Otherwise, I think there are some good pieces already on the team. Crazy raises for certain players may change that, but right now I’m in “wait and see” mode.

Which teams have surprised you the most so far this season?

I thought the Devils were having a great start to the season, and were really making inroads into the top 10 this year. Unfortunately, big name injuries have stifled that, but I expect them to make back some ground with guys returning.

Who do you think will win the Norack Cup as regular season champion?
Despite getting rid of some big $$, Nor-Bot’s Vikings still boast a balanced, productive lineup. I think the Militia have an outside shot, but ultimately I don’t think JFrizz’ offense can take the reins from the Viking’s Balance.

Who do you think will win the FHL playoffs?
That’s up in the air. Anything can happen. I’d like to think that if goaltending can solidify, the Heatwave could make noise again.

Do you have any other messages for the fellowship of the FHL?
I’m just curious what came of that GMs meeting where we all discussed the “Tonya Harding-ing” of Nor-Bot? I thought we had come to a consensus, but the fershlugginer Nord is still killing us…
Racki, as his fellow commissioner, I’m pretty sure we agreed it was your job to do…

What do you think about your team's performance so far this season?
About where I expected to be.

What are the most important reasons behind your team's performance?
I made some pretty big changes that allowed me to stay under cap without big money sitting on the shelf. That said, I lost a few games getting that way. I expected I'd fit under the cap a lot easier (my most expensive guy was only $6M, which seems like I'm doing this right!). Also, I think I could have been a lot better had my blueline performed better. This was completely unexpected. I thought my blueline was going to be league leading. It turns out it's league leading in shittyness. On the plus side though, a risky move of Hoffman has helped me be a league leader (2nd overall) in goaltending.

Do you have any concrete ambitions for the remainder of the season?
Hopefully I can fix this blueline issue and make waves in the playoffs.

Which of your players would you be willing to listen to offers to?
Wouldn't you like to know? But check my trade block.

- What would be the starting price for these players?
Hmm.. I just looked. Pretty grim trade block! The only one on there I consider to be a good young player that will get better is Kulikov. I am not giving him away. I'd like a cheaper player in return, that's my only beef with him. I think he'll eventually take off though.

What areas of your team are you looking to address in the future?
Defense.. big time.

Which teams have surprised you the most so far this season?
The Stingers sucking so bad, as well as the Rhinos maybe. On the other side, somewhat surprised by the rise of the Devils (i kinda figured they'd pick it up though) and really surprised that Trogdor is starting to get his shit together with the Burninators. Neglect seems to be working in his favor.

Who do you think will win the Norack Cup as regular season champion?
Vikings should stay on top.

Who do you think will win the FHL playoffs?
Bombers, Duh.. have I never not answered with this?

Do you have any other messages for the fellowship of the FHL?
Send me your cheap, high performing defensemen! And stop pillaging my young super talents from me (Kuznetsov, Hoffman, Backes - at the time, etc)!

On a selfish note, to help save me from work, please submit your rosters weekly so I don't have to do this for you (this manual, even though it's just clicking submit.. but I have to open several rosters and submit each of them, week to week.. and well, I'm too lazy for that).

On a nicer note, I hope everyone is having fun with the pool!

What do you think about your team's performance so far this season?
Horrible, Terrible, Injury plagued... or simply put Oileresque

What are the most important reasons behind your team's performance?
Injuries to Eberle, Datsyuk, Johnson and poor seasons from a multitude of players. And shoddy goaltending.

Do you have any concrete ambitions for the remainder of the season?
Find a starting goaltender.

Which of your players would you be willing to listen to offers to?
- What would be the starting price for these players?
Everyone is on the block. Not looking to dump for sake of dumping but to make a couple of hockey deals.
What areas of your team are you looking to address in the future?
Goaltending.

Which teams have surprised you the most so far this season?
Gladiators for good reasons. My team for bad ones.

Who do you think will win the Norack Cup as regular season champion?
Vikings

Who do you think will win the FHL playoffs?
Racki in an upset!

Do you have any other messages for the fellowship of the FHL?
Good luck to all in the home stretch!
